Salgado : Madrid Injuried Crisis Is Overloaded ...

Míchel Salgado might have been at Real Madrid for nearly a decade now but it is unlikely that in all his time he has seen an injury crisis much worse than the current one.

Salgado: Injury Crisis At Real Madrid Is Not Normal

The defending La Liga champions have suffered from a multitude of injuries to key players and speaking to AS today, Salgado says the situation is unusual.

"It is normal what is happening, but no-one is guilty," he mused.

"It is simply the nature of the sport, of football itself. We have a plague of injuries, some that are close to returning like Rubén [De La Red] and others that are more serious and are out for a while like Ruud [Van Nistelrooy]."

Madrid were hit with more bad news today with the announcement that Mahamadou Diarra will be out for at least a month and a half with injury and Christoph Metzelder is injured too.

There has though been an interesting development on the transfer front though, with the club apparently close to signing Dutch striker, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. The Ajax man is out until January with injury however and Salgado found it in himself to joke about the subject today.

"I take it upon myself to joke and all our possible signings, they are injured!" he declared.
