Mourinho Leave Balotelli In Youth Squad
Tomorrow night Lazio host current Serie A champions Inter Milan, and the Biancocelesti are in need of a great showing, coming off the back of some disappointing results.
The Nerazzurri in contrast, find themselves ahead of the pack and are hoping to extend their lead and make sure that they go into the Christmas break on top of Serie A.
The capital based club sit one place and one point off the Champions League qualifying places and earned a morale-boosting 2-1 victory at Milan in the Italian Cup on Wednesday.
At the pre-match conference Mourinho revealed that Mario Balotelli and Adriano have been omitted from the list of called up players for the Lazio game.
Mourinho commented on the squad selection by saying “It is easier for me to answer why a player has been picked rather than why they weren't. I can answer that Quaresma is chosen because he has been training well this week.”
Continuing on regarding the omitted players, the Special One said, “Adriano has not been picked because he was sick at home for two days and is not in the right condition. He only trained yesterday, but for a short time. I think that he will play in the Champions League on Tuesday.“
Balotelli will play with the youth team because he needs to learn how to play in Serie A.” Scathing words from the Portuguese tactician that will surely be the talk of the weekend.
Mourinho then moved onto the subject of his team's opponents Lazio. “If I could choose, I would have Milan and Juventus thirty points behind us, but I obviously can't choose that. I am not expecting to face a Lazio side that is tired, actually I expect them to be charged up and motivated after their win at the San Siro in the Italian Cup.”
