Real Beat European Super Champions..

Real Madrid CF took a firm grip on UEFA Champions League Group H as a Tomáš Hubočan own goal and Ruud van Nistelrooy's strike secured victory at FC Zenit St. Petersburg, who have it all to do after a second successive narrow defeat.

Frantic first half
Having succumbed 1-0 at Juventus a fortnight ago, the last thing Zenit needed was to fall behind to a Hubočan own goal after just four minutes. Record signing Danny levelled midway through the opening period, although parity lasted just six minutes as a typically opportunist strike from Van Nistelrooy restored the Spanish champions' lead. From then on it was all Zenit, but a combination of sterling goalkeeping from Iker Casillas, the woodwork and defensive numbers – typified by Pepe's added-time block from a stinging Danny drive – ensured it was Madrid who left with the spoils.

Spectacular welcome
The home supporters responded to their favourites' home debut in the UEFA Champions League by holding up thousands of black, white and blue plastic sheets with a huge banner showing men in black surrounded by stars, a symbol of the UEFA Cup holders' emergence among the high society of European football. However it all went quiet within four minutes as Madrid got the early goal they were seeking, Hubočan slicing Rafael van der Vaart's low cross into his own net with Van Nistelrooy lurking. The Zenit defender nearly repeated the error shortly afterwards when Arjen Robben slipped away down the left and crossed, Hubočan's clearance flashing dangerously close to the post.

Arshavin shines
To the relief of their fans Zenit began to find their feet, Andrei Arshavin almost nodding in a brilliant left-wing cross from Radek Šírl. When Arshavin volleyed from outside the area Casillas proved equal to it but an equaliser looked on the cards and so it proved in the 25th minute, Arshavin collecting Šírl's pass before delivering a deep cross which Danny flicked in ahead of Gabriel Heinze. It was a stylish way to register Zenit's first goal in the competition but the celebrations proved short-lived, Van der Vaart's deflected shot falling nicely for Van Nistelrooy to finish with aplomb.

Casillas to the rescue
Zenit twice threatened a second equaliser before half-time, Casillas intercepting Igor Denisov's dangerous low cross and then reacting quickly to clutch the ball after Hubočan's header had diverted off Denisov. Madrid did dominate the early exchanges in the second half, Robben unleashing a dangerous shot just too high, but that proved an isolated incident as the visitors were happy to sit back and soak up Zenit pressure while the hosts struggled to find any space to press.

Triple save
The exception came when Casillas reacted to Arshavin's cross-cum-shot, then dealt with Denisov's rebound and Šírl's powerful shot from the edge of the area. Another golden chance followed but Konstantin Zyryanov failed to direct his header. Dick Advocaat's men were cursing their luck again when substitutes Alejandro Dominguez and Fatih Tekke dazzled Madrid's defence with a fine one-touch combination to set up Arshavin for a shot that rattled the post, summing up Zenit's night.

Beberapa kali Casillas kerepotan menghalau peluang tuan rumah. Madrid hanya sempat mengimbanginya pada awal babak kedua, namun kemudian memilih bermain menunggu dan meladeni permainan menekan Zenit.

Zenit gagal memaksimalkan beberapa peluang yang mereka dapatkan, sehingga membuat mereka menelan kekalahan kedua di kancah Liga Champions.

Iaquinta Save Juventus face

FC BATE Borisov's home debut in the UEFA Champions League provided the underdogs with a dream start against Juventus, but it was not to last as the visitors were level by half-time, a point leaving them second in Group H.

Incisive football
For the Belarussian team, the first from that country to compete at this level, there was the satisfaction of knowing they had played a full part in a wonderful, seesaw encounter. Their football was incisive and they had the Italian side floundering as Sergei Kryvets and Igor Stasevich provided a handsome advantage inside 23 minutes. But Vincenzo Iaquinta, standing in for the injured David Trezeguet, hit back with two goals before the interval.

Mounting unease
BATE wasted no time pouring forward and were encouraged by the ease with which they found their men in dangerous positions. Kryvets would not take long to show his striking prowess but first laid on a terrific pass for Vitali Rodionov who was only denied by Mauro Camoranesi's challenge. It triggered a rash of corners as the pressure mounted, Juve's unease compounded by a head injury which forced Nicola Legrottaglie off the field.

Cool Kryvets
Vitali Kazantsev let fly with a dipping shot from 25 metres which dropped narrowly over the bar and with pressure mounting the historic moment arrived as the visitors' defence was dissected with surprising ease. A pass from Stasevich was perfectly weighted to dovetail with Kryvets's forward run and with Giorgio Chiellini outpaced the BATE forward showed great composure, rounding Alexander Manninger before sliding in their first UEFA Champions League goal. Legrottaglie was substituted immediately, and Juve were soon badly exposed without his height as a routine ball to the far post cleared Pavel Nedvěd and found Stasevich, who directed it into the far corner.

Iaquinta responds
Juventus were rocked, but with BATE's confidence sky-high and their commitment to attack unwavering, spaces were available for the visitors to exploit if they could piece their game together. They reduced the deficit in the 29th minute when Sebastian Giovinco, fast becoming a strong influence on the game, launched a high ball and Iaquinta headed home. Juve continued to pursue the equaliser before the break and in added time Giovinco sent Iaquinta in the clear, the striker finishing clinically through the goalkeeper's legs.

Chances continue
It was the home team who started the second half on the front foot and Pavel Nekhaychik might have scored but lashed the ball wildly over the top. Then Aleksandr Volodko arrived to meet a cross from the left but his header just missed the target. It seemed unlikely to remain at 2-2; in the other penalty area Alessandro Del Piero got to a high ball before Veremko but could not keep his attempt down. Del Piero came close again late on as Juventus took a firmer grip on proceedings but BATE never relented in their own search for a winner and their first three points in Group H. In added time Manninger was forced to go full length to keep out a swirling shot.

Juventus Bangkit, Paksakan Hasil Imbang

Debut Liga Champions BATE Borisov di kandang diawali dengan baik, saat mampu unggul dua gol terlebih dahulu atas raksasa Italia Juventus.

BATE tak membuang-buang waktu untuk keluar menyerang. Sergei Kryvets dan Vitali Rodionov mengancam gawang Juventus, tapi masih dapat dihalau barisan pertahanan tim tamu. Beberapa tendangan pojok mampu dihasilkan buah tekanan yang dilakukan tuan rumah. Juve kesulitan mengembangkan permainan.

Juventus kian bersemangat mencari gol penyeimbang sebelum jeda.

Brutals Arsenal, Crush Porto Four Goal

Arsenal FC bounced back from their weekend humbling by Hull City AFC to take apart the pride of Portugal with a 4-0 victory against FC Porto in UEFA Champions League Group G.

Perfect response
Arsène Wenger had questioned his charges' carelessness in surrendering Premier League points on Saturday but they found the perfect response, Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor both scoring a goal in each half against opponents left to rue spurning key chances when the game was still goalless. Indeed the Portuguese champions, overtaken by Arsenal at the group summit, must be sick of visiting England after suffering a fifth loss here in as many seasons, and their heaviest defeat in the competition in eleven years.

Front foot
Arsenal, smarting from the surrender of their 17-month unbeaten home record, started on the front foot and created the first opportunity of note when Adebayor played in Theo Walcott only for Helton to turn behind his near-post shot. Van Persie then let fly from the edge of the box to draw a fingertip save from the goalkeeper but while Arsenal were dominating possession, Porto had not come just to defend.

Porto threat
After a quick breakaway in the 13th minute, Porto striker Cristián Rodríguez got his head to a Tomás Costa centre and diverted the ball down into the ground and up on to Manuel Almunia's crossbar. Wenger's team then survived an even bigger scare when, after Almunia had turned behind Lisandro's swerving shot, the same player nearly scored from the ensuing corner. Set-pieces have been Arsenal's undoing in both their Premier League defeats this term and they looked no less vulnerable when Rolando turned Tomás Costa's half-cleared delivery back towards goal and Lisandro slipped it under Almunia only to be foiled by Gaël Clichy's goalline clearance.

Goals arrive
Duly reprieved, Arsenal claimed a 31st-minute lead through Van Persie. Collecting Adebayor's headed flick 25 metres from goal, Cesc Fábregas spotted the big striker's run beyond the back line and slipped a perfectly timed return pass between two striped shirts. Adebayor, clean through, squared the ball across for Van Persie to turn it in. Nine minutes later it was two as Van Persie delivered a corner to the head of Adebayor who bulleted the ball down into the turf, then back up and into the net off the bar.

No coming back
Porto began the second period with playmaker Lucho – a fitness doubt beforehand – on in place of Fernando yet any hopes of a comeback died with Van Persie's second goal after 48 minutes. The visitors paid for their failure to clear by the left touchline and when the ball ran through to Van Persie inside the penalty area, he sidestepped Bruno Alves and shot low, via the hand of Helton, into the far corner. Now Arsenal were rampant and Walcott and Samir Nasri both missed when it appeared easier to score. Raul Meireles made way for Hulk on 64 minutes but the only thing incredible was that Arsenal added only one more goal, Adebayor tucking away a penalty after substitute Nicklas Bendtner was fouled by Freddy Guarín.

Arsenal Perkasa, Bantai Jagoan Portugal 4-0

Senna's Strike Give Three Points..

As soon as Marcos Senna's second-half free-kick curved past Artur Boruc, Celtic FC shoulders sagged and the result was beyond doubt. Although Villarreal CF earned their 1-0 victory and a shared lead of Group E, the visitors' performance was competent enough to make their inability to win away in the UEFA Champions League, a run now at 18 games, mystifying.

Home record
This was Villarreal's eighth match at home in the UEFA Champions League, including qualifying, and they are yet to lose. Part of their power is that 1-0 and a good performance is always enough to satisfy coach Manuel Pellegrini, and although the Spanish side did not dominate for 90 minutes their constant peppering of Boruc's goal, compared to the fleeting chances for Celtic, made this a just result.

New formation
The only surprise in the two lineups was that Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, previously a touchstone player for Celtic manager Gordon Strachan, was on the bench. But his players quickly showed they had understood his demands for a more careful and intelligent use of ball possession. True to his pre-match prediction he eschewed the in-vogue 4-5-1 formation and asked them to perform in a 4-2-3-1 shape with the ball and drop to a regular 4-4-2 when not in possession. The best of the early chances, however, fell to Villarreal when they opted for old-fashioned 'British' tactics, the long ball and a header on goal.

Good vision
Although Shaun Maloney put a 12th-minute free-kick on target Villarreal were untroubled by the time they nearly took the lead. Sebastián Eguren's split-second decision to launch the ball over the Celtic back four left Giuseppe Rossi sprinting clear. Boruc dithered before sprawling and saving with his feet. Joseba Llorente had time to clip the rebound home only to loft his shot too high. Then a Senna corner in the 25th minute was planted right on Llorente's head, but his effort was clutched by Celtic's Polish goalkeeper.

Tide turning
It was not an outright onslaught but after Aiden McGeady curved a fierce shot round Diego López's post Rossi should have scored from ten metres when Santi Cazorla laid the chance on a plate for him. Punishment for profligacy nearly came three minutes before the break when López's outstanding save prevented Georgios Samaras from scoring. The second-half tempo was electric and when Stephen McManus nearly flicked in Gary Caldwell's header Celtic rattled the hosts. But the ebb and flow immediately took Rossi to the edge of Boruc's penalty box, the Italian's fierce shot edged narrowly wide.

Senna scores
Villarreal's intensity increased as good shots from Cazorla and Senna either side of the hour were well saved. The goal was patently coming and the Brazilian-born midfielder bent his free-kick past Boruc in the 67th minute. Only when Celtic added fresh legs did they begin to create real openings and when McGeady's lofted pass inside to substitute Scott McDonald allowed the Australian a spectacular volley it dipped agonisingly over. Typically Villarreal hit back and Boruc again saved splendidly from Llorente to seal a terrific personal performance.

Gol Senna Habisi Harapan Celtic

Rossi kembali berpeluang mencetak gol kalau sukses memaksimalkan umpan matang Santi Cazorla. Setelahnya, upaya Georgios Samaras merepotkan kiper Diego Lopez.

Pada babak kedua, tempo pertandingan makin meningkat. Villarreal akhirnya sukses memetik gol melalui tendangan bebas pada menit ke-67. Eksekusi yang dilakukan Marcos Senna tak mampu dihadang Boruc.

Kedua tim saling membalas serangan setelahnya, namun tetap tak mengubah kedudukan.

Two Goal Berbatov, give red devil three points

Dimitar Berbatov struck two second-half goals as Manchester United FC moved to the Group E summit with a convincing 3-0 victory away to Aalborg BK.

Rooney opener
If United stuttered in their UEFA Champions League opener against Villarreal CF two weeks ago they never deviated as they strolled to victory on a chilly evening in Denmark. AaB stuck by coach Bruce Rioch's promise to attack in their first-ever meeting with United but were given little opportunity as the visitors dominated. Wayne Rooney's low strike set them on their way midway through the first half before Berbatov took centre stage, scoring his first goal for the club ten minutes after the restart and securing the points eleven minutes from time.

Early chance
Berbatov was one of six changes to the United side that drew with Villarreal and the Bulgarian striker could have scored within six minutes. A clearance by AaB goalkeeper Karim Zaza spun off the heel of Cristiano Ronaldo and fell invitingly into the path of the Berbatov, yet from less than eight metres out, he fired wide. That chance did not spook the hosts, who could have scored themselves four minutes later when Jeppe Curth slid on to a Thomas Enevoldsen cross and hit a low shot which cannoned off Patrice Evra for a corner. There were further concerns for United moments later when Paul Scholes was taken off on a stretcher after coming off worse in a tackle with Thomas Augustinussen. On came Ryan Giggs, bringing much-needed composure to the visitors, and it was his through-ball to Rooney on 22 minutes that brought the breakthrough, the 22-year-old driving a shot low past Zaza for his 12th goal in this competition.

Beauchamp knock
The hosts suffered another setback on 35 minutes when Michael Beauchamp injured himself clearing a low Ronaldo cross. The Australian was forced off, with captain Augustinussen dropping back into central defence – not his natural habitat. Ten minutes after half-time that was plain to see as he failed to deal with a simple pass and Berbatov made no mistake, ramming a half-volley past Zaza from the edge of the box to open his account for United.

Berbatov second
Rooney limped off on 59 minutes, and his replacement Carlos Tévez thought he had made it 3-0 soon after only for his effort to be chalked out for pushing. United did get a third 20 minutes later, though, as Berbatov acrobatically lashed in Ronaldo's cross on the half-volley. The AaB supporters had been vociferous throughout and continued even after the result was beyond doubt, something which appeared about to get worse on 85 minutes when Ronaldo burst through only to hit his resulting shot wide of the near post.

Berbatov -Rooney Mulai Berbahaya

Jeppe Curth mengancam, untungnya tendangan mendatarnya membentur Patrice Evra.

Life Story of Ronaldinho..

Ronaldo de Assis Moreira was born in the Rio Grande do Sul capital of Porto Alegre. His mother, Miguelina, is a former salesperson who studied to become a nurse. His father, João, was a shipyard worker and footballer for local club Esporte Clube Cruzeiro (not to be confused with Cruzeiro EC),[5] and suffered a fatal heart attack when Ronaldo was eight. After Ronaldo's older brother, Roberto, signed with Grêmio, the family moved to a more affluent home in Porto Alegre, which was a gift from Grêmio to convince Roberto to stay at the club. Roberto's career was ultimately cut short by injury.

Ronaldo's football skills began to blossom at an early age, and he was first given the nickname Ronaldinho because he was often the youngest and the smallest player in youth club matches.[6] He developed an interest in futsal and beach football, which later expanded to organized football, and his first brush with the media came at the age of thirteen, when he scored all 23 goals in a 23-0 victory against a local team.[7] Ronaldinho was identified as a rising star at the Egypt 1997 under-17 world championship, in which he scored two goals on penalty kicks.[8][9]

Today Roberto acts as Ronaldinho's manager, while his sister, Deisi, works as his press coordinator.[10][11] Ronaldinho became a father for the first time on February 25, 2005, after Brazilian dancer Janaína Mendes gave birth to their son, who was named João after Ronaldinho's father.[12]

Club career

Early career

Ronaldinho's career began with the Grêmio youth squad under head coach Celso Roth, who only played him due to immense pressure from team supporters. He made his senior side debut during the 1998 Copa Libertadores.[13] In 2001, Arsenal F.C. expressed interest in signing Ronaldinho, but the move collapsed after he could not obtain a work permit, because he was a non-EU player who had not played enough international matches.[14] He considered playing on loan with Scottish Premier League side St Mirren F.C., which never happened due to his involvement in a fake passport scandal in Brazil.[15] Ronaldinho ultimately signed a five-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain FC.

During the 2001-02 season, PSG manager Luis Fernandez claimed that Ronaldinho was too focused on the Parisian nightlife rather than football, and complained that his holidays in Brazil never ended at the scheduled times.[13] In 2003, less than two years into his PSG stint, Ronaldinho made it clear he wanted to leave after PSG failed to qualify for any European competition.

FC Barcelona

On July 19, 2003, FC Barcelona acquired Ronaldinho for £21 million.[16] Originally, Barcelona president Joan Laporta had promised to bring David Beckham to the club, but following his transfer to Real Madrid, Barcelona entered the running for Ronaldinho and outbid Manchester United for his signature.

He made his team debut in a friendly against A.C. Milan at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C, scoring one goal in a 2-0 victory. After suffering from injury during the first half of the campaign, he returned and helped lead Barcelona to a second-place league finish.

Ronaldinho won his first league title in 2004-05, and was named FIFA World Player of the Year on December 20, 2004. On March 8, 2005, Barcelona were eliminated from the Champions League by Chelsea F.C in the first knockout round, with Ronaldinho scoring both goals in a 4-2 loss.[17]

With Ronaldinho's contract expiring in 2008, he was offered an extension until 2014 that would have net him £85 million over nine years,[18] but he turned it down. In September 2005, he signed a two-year extension that contained a minimum-fee release clause that allowed him to leave should a club make an offer to Barcelona of at least £85 million for him.[19]

By the end of the 2004-05 season, Ronaldinho had started to accumulate a host of personal awards. He won the inaugural FIFPro World Player of the Year in September 2005, in addition to being included in the FIFPro World XI. He was named as both the European Footballer of the Year . He was again named FIFA World Player of the Year with 956 points, more than triple the amount (306) of runner-up Frank Lampard.

On November 19, 2005, Ronaldinho scored twice as Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-0 on the road in the first leg of the El Clásico. After he sealed the match with his second goal, he received a standing ovation from the Madrid fans. He was chosen for the UEFA Team of 2005 for the third consecutive year in January 2006.

Barcelona eliminated SL Benfica in the '05-06 CL quarterfinals with a 2-0 home victory, with Ronaldinho scoring one of the goals after missing an early penalty kick. After a 1-0 semifinal aggregate win over AC Milan, in which Ronaldinho assisted the series' only goal by Ludovic Giuly, Barcelona progressed to the CL final, which they won on May 17, 2006 with a 2-1 defeat of Arsenal F.C. despite Ronaldinho being kept in check for the match. Two weeks earlier, Barcelona had clinched their second straight La Liga title with a 1-0 win over Celta Vigo, giving Ronaldinho his first career double. He finished the season with a career-best twenty-six goals in all competitions, and was named the 2005-06 Champions League Player of the Year.

On November 25, 2006, Ronaldinho scored his fiftieth career league goal against Villarreal CF, then later scored a second time with an overhead bicycle kick. He later said to reporters that the latter was a goal he had dreamed of scoring since he was a boy.[20] He scored once and set up two others in Barcelona's 4-0 Club World Cup win over Mexico's Club América on December 14, but Barcelona were defeated 1-0 by Brazilian club Internacional in the final.[21] Ronaldinho was nonetheless the recipient of the Bronze Ball Award for the competition.

The next day, Ronaldinho finished third in the running for the 2006 FIFA World Player of the Year, behind World Cup-winning captain Fabio Cannavaro and Zinedine Zidane.[22] Ronaldinho was named among the UEFA Team of the Year for the third straight time in January 2007, receiving the highest number of votes in over 290,000 nominations.[23] He was forced to miss a charity match on March 13 due to an injury he had picked up several days earlier in Barcelona's 3-3 El Clásico draw with Real Madrid.[24][25]

He played his 200th career match for Barcelona in a league match against Osasuna on February 3, 2008. However, his 2007-08 campaign as a whole was plagued by injuries, and a muscle tear in his right leg on April 3 prematurely ended his season.[26] On May 19, Laporta stated that Ronaldinho needed a "new challenge," claiming that he needed a new club if he were to revive his career.[27] Manchester City F.C. owner Thaksin Shinawatra confirmed on June 6 that he was interested in acquiring him.[28]

Ronaldinho and Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi each captained a team of international stars in an anti-racism exhibition match in Venezuela on June 28, which ended in a 7-7 draw. Ronaldinho finished with a pair of goals and two assists in what would be his last match as a Barcelona player.[29]

A.C. Milan

Ronaldinho turned down a £25.5 Million offer from Manchester City[30] to join Italian giants A.C. Milan on a three-year contract, after he was purchased from Barcelona for €21 million.[31] With the number 10 already occupied by teammate Clarence Seedorf, he selected 80 as his jersey number, because 1980 was his birth year.[32]

Ronaldinho scored his first goal in the major derby game against Inter Milan on September 28th, 2008, in which proved to be the winning goal where Milan won 1-0. [33]

International career

Ronaldinho is one of few Brazilian players to have played at every international age level. He was part of the first Brazilian team to win the FIFA U-17 World Championship in 1997, in which his first goal was a penalty against Austria in the first group match, which Brazil won 7-0. Ronaldinho finished with two goals and was awarded the Bronze Ball award as Brazil scored a total of twenty-one goals while only conceding two.

1999 was a busy year for Ronaldinho in terms of international play. He took part in the 1999 FIFA World Youth Championship, scoring his first goal in Brazil's last group match. In the round of sixteen, he scored two first-half goals in a 4-0 win over Croatia, and finished with three goals as Brazil were eliminated by Uruguay in the quarterfinals. On June 26, three days before the start of the 1999 Copa América, he earned his first cap for Brazil in a 3-0 win over Latvia, and he scored one goal during Brazil's victorious Copa América campaign. One week after the conclusion of the Copa América, he was called up for the 1999 Confederations Cup, in which he scored in every match, including a hat-trick in an 8-2 semifinal rout of Saudi Arabia. Ronaldinho missed the final, a 4-3 loss to Mexico, due to injury.

Ronaldinho participated in his first World Cup in 2002, as part of a formidable offensive unit with Ronaldo and Rivaldo, scoring two goals. One came in the quarterfinal against England on June 21, before he was sent off for a foul on England defender Danny Mills. He was suspended for the semifinal, but returned to Brazil's starting lineup for the 2-0 victory over Germany in the final.

He captained Brazil to its second Confederations Cup title in 2005, and was named Man of the Match in a 4-1 victory over archrivals Argentina in the final on June 29.

Ronaldinho Bring Victory To Rossonero

Milan came into this game in good form, having won their last three matches in all competitions. However, they were without the injured Alessandro Nesta, Pippo Inzaghi, Tabare Viudez, Andrea Pirlo, Philippe Senderos, and Marco Borriello. Carlo Ancelotti launched the Ka-Pa-Ro in an exciting looking attack, while Paolo Maldini, Marek Jankulovski and Massimo Ambrosini returned to the starting XI after being rested against Reggina in midweek.

Inter were coming off a four game winning streak, but they too had injury problems as Walter Samuel, Luis Jimenez, Maxwell, and Luis Figo were sidelined, with Sulley Muntari suspended. Nicolas Burdisso partnerred Marco Materazzi at centre back, while Mancini, Ricardo Quaresma and Zlatan Ibrahimovic formed the forward trident.

First Half

Inter had the first attempt of the game as Mancini picked up the ball 30 yards from goal, but he dragged his effort well wide of Christian Abbiati's right hand post.

Milan were having all the possession in the early stages, but their first effort didn't arrive until the tenth minute when Ambrosini's deflected long range shot looped harmlessly into Julio Cesar's arms.

Ibrahimovic got into a dangerous position inside the area, but his cross was kicked away by Abbiati, while Kaka asked for a Milan penalty when he received a nudge in the back in the box. It was an entertaining game, and Zambrotta charged forward from right back and unleashed a missile that finished not too far over.

On 16 minutes, Ibrahimovic would have been through on goal had he not had a very heavy first touch which allowed Abbiati to race off his line and dive on the ball.

Down the other end, Kaka's speculative effort fell to Pato inside the area, and his left foot snapshot appeared goalbound until it was charged down by Burdisso.

On 23 minutes Milan were agonizingly close to taking the lead as Kaka went on a mesmerising solo run, beating three men before laying the ball back to Ronaldinho, who saw his ferocious near post shot brilliantly turned around the post by Julio Cesar. It was a simply world class stop by the goalkeeper.

Pato was then put clean through on goal by Zambrotta's fine pass, but he was flagged offside in what replays showed to be a highly debatable decision.

On 36 minutes the deadlock was broken, and it was Ronaldinho who sent the San Siro into ecstasy with his first goal in a Milan shirt. Kaka found space down the right, and crossed into the middle for Ronaldinho's perfect header from the penalty spot into the top corner of the net. Inter players asked for offside but replays showed Materazzi playing Kaka level.

Rino Gattuso was fired up like never before, and he went into the book for a late foul on Quaresma, before having a ferocious touchline argument with Ancelotti, who had asked him to calm down.

Milan came looking for the second, and Pato skinned Christian Chivu, only for Julio Cesar to race off his line and come to the rescue. Kaka then went on another fine run, before going down under pressure from Materazzi, but the referee waved away the penalty appeals.

Second Half

Into the second half and Ronaldinho still seemed to be enjoying himself as he took a ball down beautifully on the left before spraying the ball to Kaka on the right of the area, but the former Sao Paulo man blazed well over.

Mancini had been very quiet for Inter, but he had a decent opening on 51 minutes as he failed to make decent contact on a free kick curled in from the right.

Ronaldinho and Kaka were combining superbly at times, and the former found the latter, whose shot was deflected dangerously wide of the post. Ronaldinho then hit a snapshot off target from 25 yards, as did Kaka once again.

Jose Mourinho knew that changes needed to be made and, just shy of the hour mark, boldly brought on both Adriano and Julio Cruz for Materazzi and Mancini, thus forming a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Zanetti bombed forward from his new left back position, and crossed for Adriano, but the Brazilian's header was directed well off target.

Cruz went a little closer on 70 minutes, as he was afforded space to run at the Milan defence before firing wide. Ibrahimovic had a fine chance seconds later, as he ran unchallenged into acres of spaces, but he lashed the ball a couple of yards wide.

Ancelotti looked to tighten up the ship as Inter started to pile on the pressure, bringing on Mathieu Flamini for the tiring Pato.

Inter were on top now, but with 14 minutes remaining their hopes were hit when Burdisso received a second yellow card for a late foul on Kaka. With Materazzi off the pitch, Inter were now without both of their centre backs who started the game.

Kaka tried to take advantage of the one man advantage, and almost caught out Julio Cesar at his near post after another electric slalom. Mourinho then made his final change, introducing Dejan Stankovic for Vieira.

Stankovic almost scored with his first touch after a brilliant volley from the edge of the area that was beaten away by Abbiati, before Adriano fired the follow-up over.

Tensions were now high, and a touchline row erupted, which led to the departed Materazzi also seeing red. Goalscorer Ronaldinho left the pitch to a standing ovation soon after, with Andriy Shevchenko taking his place.

Milan were still looking for a second. Flamini was denied by Chivu at close range, before Shevchenko sliced his shot disappointingly from a promising position.

The Ukrainian went much closer with two minutes remaining, as his powerful drive was superbly tipped over the bar by Julio Cesar.

There was chaos in the Milan penalty area moments later, as Rossoneri players threw themselves in the line of fire as Adriano, Cambiasso and Quaresma all threatened to get shots in.

In the second minute of injury time Adriano had a glorious chance to equalise as he was left all alone at the back post just yards out on Maicon's cross, but he incredibly headed two yards wide.

Ibrahimovic then volleyed well over from the edge of the area, and Milan knew then that it was their day. Jose Mourinho suffers his first loss as Inter boss, and Milan are now well and truly back in the Scudetto hunt.

Ronaldinho Permalukan Pemimpin Klasemen...

Ronaldinho menjadi pahlawan sekaligus bintang kemenangan AC Milan atas Inter Milan dalam laga Derby della Madonnina. Gol tunggal Dinho mengantar Rossoneri menang 1-0.

Di masa injury time Inter memiliki peluang terakhirnya menyamakan kedudukan lewat Adriano.

Susunan Pemain

Milan: Abbiati; Zambrotta, Maldini, Kaladze, Jankulovski; Gattuso (Bonera 88), Seedorf, Ambrosini; Kakà, Ronaldinho (Shevchenko 83); Pato (Flamini 74)

Inter: Julio Cesar; Maicon, Burdisso, Materazzi (Cruz 59), Chivu; Zanetti, Cambiasso, Vieira (Stankovic 80); Quaresma, Ibrahimovic, Mancini (Adriano 59)

The Wolf Is Rising Again..

Roma came into this game in desperate need of a win following their poor start to the season. However, they still had injury problems as Juan, David Pizarro, Julio Baptista, Francesco Totti, and Marco Cassetti were sidelined, with Daniele De Rossi suspended. Mirko Vucinic started as the lone frontman supported by Rodrigo Taddei, Simone Perrotta and Jeremy Menez.

Morale was high in the Atalanta camp, as they started the day in joint-second position. Only Christian Vieri, Giacomo Bonaventura, and Karamoko Cissé were unavailable. The evergreen Cristiano Doni tailed the dangerous Sergio Floccari up-front.

First Half

Atalanta had the first attempt of the game within the first 90 seconds as Marino Defendi slashed a half volley over the bar from the edge of the area.

Some nice play from Roma involving John Arne Riise and Alberto Aquilani allowed Menez to force a reaction save out of Ferdinando Coppola, although the Frenchman was flagged offside.

The home side were presented with a promising opportunity on 11 minutes when the referee awarded a free kick right on the edge of the area, but Aquilani blazed the ball disappointingly over. Luca Cigarini also got under a free kick down the other end.

Roma broke the deadlock on 17 minutes, and once again it was defender Christian Panucci, who incredibly has now hit three this season in all competitions. Panucci fired in a low left-footed shot at the back post following a corner, which deflected fortuitously off Thomas Manfredini past a helpless Coppola.

The Giallorossi threatened a second as Aqulani tested Coppola with a looping header. Indeed the young midfielder was having plenty of efforts, and on 26 minutes he shot well over once again from 30 yards.

Just past the half-hour mark Roma doubled their lead, and once again their was more than a hint of luck involved. Menez's pass ricocheted off Gyorgy Garics right into Vucinic's path, and the Montenegrin turned and fired past Coppola.

Atalanta had made little impact on the game, and coach Luigi Del Neri didn't wait around to make change, introducing Diego De Ascentis for Simone Padoin before half time.

Second Half

Del Neri tweaked his team again at the break, as the disappointing Defendi did not emerge from the changing rooms, his place being taken by Jaime Valdes.

Atalanta had the first attempt of the second period, but Leonardo Talamonti's long range shot was deflected well wide.

Vucinic had been in and out of the game for Roma, and he tried his luck with a curling effort from the edge of the area, but he could not find the target.

Menez was really starting to grow into the game as the hour mark approached, and he went on a fine solo run past two players, before going down in the area, but the referee waved play on.

On 62 minutes Atalanta had their best chance of the game as Floccari raced through one-on-one with Alexander Doni, but the striker was not decisive, and eventually Philippe Mexes was able to get a block in. Floccari then had another shot charged down soon after.

Atalanta were now having their best spell of the game and built up a period of pressure. Valdes slammed the ball over the bar via the boot of a defender. On 69 minutes, Valdes almost raced through on goal, but he was denied by a superb last gasp tackle by Mexes.

The Nerazzurri completely dominated the second half possession, as Roma seemed happy to sit back on their two goal lead. However, they were living dangerously and on 77 minutes Atalanta should have pulled one back as Valdes faded his shot wide from a superb position inside the area.

Aquilani had been very quiet in the second half, but five minutes from time he tested Coppola with a long range rocket. Substitute Stefano Chuka Okaka then wasted a promising counter-attacking situation, before Riise unleashed a missile from 30 yards, as Roma finished strongly in the closing stages.

It was an important win for Roma, who get their Scudetto challenge back on track, following a difficult start to the season.

Teams

Roma: Doni, Cicinho, Panucci, Mexes, Riise, Brighi, Aquilani, Taddei, Perrotta, Menez (Virga 66), Vucinic (Okaka 78)

Atalanta: Coppola, Garics (Marconi 82), Talamonti, Manfredini, Bellini, Defendi (Valdes 46), Guarente, Cigarini, Padoin (De Ascentis 37), Doni, Floccari

Srigala Merah Bangkit ( Lagi )...

AS Roma meraih kemenangan keduanya musim ini.

Roma sendiri sempat berpeluang memperbesar keunggulan melalui Alberto Aquilani.

Susunan Pemain
Roma: Doni; Cicinho, Mexes, Panucci, Riise; Aquilani, Brighi; Taddei, Perrotta, Menez (Virga 70); Vucinic (Okaka 79)

Atalanta: Coppola; Garics (Marconi 82), Talamonti, Manfredini, Bellini; Defendi (Valdes 46), Cigarini, Guarente, Padoin (De Ascentis 39); Doni; Floccari

Win 3-1, Pandev Says : its Beautifull Life in Lazio

The Biancocelesti have had a blistering start to the season, winning three of their four matches and only dropping points away at the San Siro against Milan. A major factor in the capital club's success so far has been the youth and quality in their squad, with Argentinian Mauro Zarate particularly standing out as a major player.

Lazio are the top scorers in Serie A, with Zarate on four goals and Goran Pandev on three after his goal in the 3-0 demolition of Fiorentina in midweek.

Pandev, who joined Lazio in 2004, has become a great success and firm fans' favourite since his arrival from rivals Inter Milan. The Macedonian star has settled in well with the Biancocelesti and his partnership with Tomasso Rocchi up front has produced the goods for the capital club. He is now developing a good understanding with new starlet Zarate as well and is finding his time at the club more enjoyable than ever.

“We enjoy ourselves and we fear no one,” said Pandev. “For me this is a beautiful period, but I must still work very hard, especially on my headers.

“Shortly Rocchi will return from injury. It is a great group of players and the new arrivals have integrated well.”

The striker concluded with a thought on the league standings, saying, “I’m not going to speak about the Scudetto, but I hope Roma stay behind us!”

Torino: Matteo Sereni, Marco di Loreto, Riccardo Colombo (Paolo Zanetti 72), Francesco Pratali, Matteo Rubin, Ignazio Abate (Nicola Ventola 68), Eugenio Corini (Nicola Amoruso 60), Blerim Dzemaili, Jurgen Saumel, Rolando Bianchi, Elvis Abruscato.

Lazio: Juan Carrizo, Sebastiano Siviglia, Stefan Radu, Stephan Lichsteiner, Emilson Cribari (David Rozehnal 24), Cristian Ledesma, Stefano Mauri (Christian Manfredini 77), Christian Brocchi, Pasquale Foggia, Goran Pandev (Mourad Meghni 68), Mauro Zarate.

Hantam Torino, Lazio Rebut Capolista

Ketika pertandingan berjalan 62 menit, Lazio berhasil menggandakan keunggulannya.

Skor akhir 3-1.

Susunan Pemain:

Torino: Matteo Sereni, Marco di Loreto, Riccardo Colombo (Paolo Zanetti 72), Francesco Pratali, Matteo Rubin, Ignazio Abate (Nicola Ventola 68), Eugenio Corini (Nicola Amoruso 60), Blerim Dzemaili, Jurgen Saumel, Rolando Bianchi, Elvis Abruscato.

Lazio: Juan Carrizo, Sebastiano Siviglia, Stefan Radu, Stephan Lichsteiner, Emilson Cribari (David Rozehnal 24), Cristian Ledesma, Stefano Mauri (Christian Manfredini 77), Christian Brocchi, Pasquale Foggia, Goran Pandev (Mourad Meghni 68), Mauro Zarate.

Player Ratings: Espanyol 1-2 Barcelona

Espanyol

Kameni 6.5 - In fairness did not have many outstanding saves to make, but the ones he did he made well. Should have cleared the ball for Henry's goal.

Chica 7 - Did well down the flanks to contain Messi and make him have to continue search for openings inside rather than round the back.

Pareja 7.5 - Very unfortunate to be the one to have to stop Eto'o at the very end the debate will go on, but he had a very good game apart from that.

Jarque 7 - Also was very strong in keeping out the Barça forwards that have taken apart so many other teams with their constant attacking.

Sergio Sánchez 6.5 - Was sometimes caught out of position when trying to contain Iniesta, but was part of a strong overall display at the back for Barça.

Moisés 7 - Sat in front of the back four and was very strong in keeping the second wave of Barça players out and winnning the second ball.

Román 6.5 - A strong presence in the midfield who was able to mix the physical side with the creative side as he helped his break away.

Nené 4
- In a game of so few bookings, the former Celta wideman was slightly unfortunate to see two of them before the break.

Coro 8 - Never stopped working throughout and was the first to run the ball out of his own half once Espanyol were down to ten men.

Luis García 7.5 - Also ran tirelessly and will have felt aggrieved that all his work was not even rewarded with a share of the spoils.

Tamudo 6.5 - Did very well to put the ball back across the area with a pass that led to the first goal and will be frustrated to have been taken off.

Subs

Ángel 6.5 - Another player brought on to try and help break things up and take the ball away from the Espanyol area.

Sielva 7 - Really did try his best to run at Barça and relieve the pressure from his defence and did that job very well when he had the chance.

Callejón 6 - Replaced Tamudo as the lone striker and did well enough, but was never going to have much supply.

Barcelona

Valdés 7 - Not much he could have done about the goal given that Luis García gave him a nudge and he had a quiet evening on the whole.

Alves 7.5 - Was able to push forward a lot given Espanyol's defensive stance and provide crosses and passes for the forwards to go for.

Puyol 7 - Constantly led the team on and gave a captain's performance simply for his constant cajoling of his team-mates.

Piqué 6.5 - Solid at the back and was able to stop the majority of Espanyol's breakaways as well as providing a creative side from the back

Abidal 6 - Helped out going forward and could not do anything to prevent the goal, but did not really make an impression at either end.

Busquets 6 - Was involved in a number of things, but most noticably in the moajority of moments that stirred up Espanyol in midfield.

Xavi 7.5 - Tried to create what he could in the limited space available and found it difficult to find his team-mates. Hit the bar with a sizzler.

Gudjohnsen 5.5 - Was given a chance in midfield, but was thwarted by the clear lack of space and was unable to open up Espanyol.

Iniesta 8.5 - Barça's best player yet again with his movement and creativity, even though he may not have been as outstanding in recent weeks.

Messi 8 - Creative and tricky, but still needs to hone his incredible talent to truly unlock locked defences such as this and he only did that once or twice.

Henry 8 - Constantly looked to make a breakthrough and had a number of good chances only to be denied by inspired defending and the woodwork.

Subs

Eto'o 7.5 - His movement and strength did cause Espanyol problems and his run for the penalty was decisive and won the game.

Bojan 6 - Had a couple of shots that did not trouble Kameni and has yet to show this season why he deserves more minutes.

Keita 6 - Did not make a huge impression when coming on but was able to sit back and help the defence when building.

Gol Injury Time Messi Menangkan El Barca

Gilardino save Fiorentina ( again )

Fiorentina welcomed Genoa at the Artemio Franchi stadium looking to bounce back immediately from their heavy defeat to Lazio in midweek, which coach Cesare Prandelli dubbed "the worst performance during my period". Genoa, meanwhile, were in completely different spirits as they thrashed Lazio’s cross-town rivals Roma 3-1 at home the same night.

Prandelli played with a 4-3-3 formation with Adrian Mutu, Alberto Gilardino, and Franco Semioli up front, while his Genoa colleague Gian Piero Gasperini responded with a 3-4-3 line-up with Raffaele Palladino, Ruben Olivera, and Marco Rossi in attack. Prolific striker Diego Milito surprisingly started from the bench for Genoa.

First Half

The home side tried to find a quick goal to settle their nerves, and came agonisingly close only three minutes in, when Mutu headed the ball wide on a corner kick by Riccardo Montolivo.

In the early stages there were a lot of fouls from both sides, making it difficult for either team to settle into the match.

In the 17th minute, there was another couple of chances for Fiorentina, as first Massimo Gobbi sent in a dangerous cross that was well grabbed by goalkeeper Rubinho, who was called into action soon afterwards again on a good long range effort from Montolivo.

The home side couldn’t quite take control of the match, though they were the team who showed the most attacking intent, and on the half hour mark Gilardino was in an excellent position to shoot from about 20 meters, but his shot went well over the crossbar (31’).

The first half was a surprisingly dull affair, considering these teams are known to favor offensive tactics. The last chance (if you want to call it that) of the half came in the 37th minute, when Mutu played a nice flick to Montolivo, who in turn played it to Gobbi, but the latter’s poor cross failed to find the Romanian striker who was waiting inside the area.

A few minutes later, in the 40th minute to be precise, Gasperini was forced to make his first substitution as midfielder Omar Milanetto suffered from a muscle injury and was replaced by Ivan Juric.

Second Half

Neither coach opted to make a change during the break, but early in the second half Gasperini decided to bring in Milito for Giandomenico Mesto, and it nearly paid dividends a few minutes later.

In the 53rd minute, in fact, the Argentinean striker had the best chance of the match until that point as he was found alone inside the area and fired a shot that Sebastien Frey saved with his feet.

The match came alive after that, and two minutes later Martin Jorgensen found Alberto Gilardino inside the area, but the striker was denied by a terrific last-gasp tackle from Domenico Criscito (55’).

The home side came close again two minutes after that, when Marco Donadel fired a dangerous low drive from inside the area that Rubinho pushed around the post (57’).

Following this series of chances, Fiorentina did take the lead in the 61st minute, when the red-hot Gilardino controlled the ball on a corner kick, spun around and unleashed a low drive that left Rubinho without a chance. A great strike from the Italian international, who scored his 5th goal in all competitions for the Viola.

In the 67th minute, the visitors came close to equalising when, on a one-two inside the area between Milito and Juric, captain Dario Dainelli had to come up with a great defensive intervention to clear the danger.

Fiorentina seemed to have the match under control after the opening goal, and had an opportunity to build on their lead in the 75th minute, when Mutu was in a good position to shoot from inside the area and sent the ball just wide of the post.

Ten minutes before the end, the home side nearly shot themselves in the foot as defender Per Kroldrup nearly deflected a cross from Palladino into his own net, infuriating Frey (81’).

In the last minutes of the match, the home side resorted mostly to defending as they aimed to hold on to their slim 1-0 lead until the end. Genoa had one final chance in the 93rd minute, but Frey came out well to punch the ball away and anticipate Olivera on a long ball from Juric.

Ultimately, it wasn't enough as they stumbled to a 1-0 defeat to a Fiorentina side that looked nervous at times, but ultimately deserved their victory as they had the most ball possession and the most chances as well.

Gilardino menangkan Fiorentina ( lagi ) !

Alberto Gilardino kembali menjadi pahlawan Fiorentina.

Duet Gila, Adrian Mutu, berkesempatan menambah gol, tapi gagal.

Juventus Holded By Sampdoria

Both teams came into this game needing points and they both left with one each as the spoils were shared at Marassi. Neither side was able to find a winner despite numerous chances being created at both ends.

First Half

Juventus got the game started at Marassi but it was Sampdoria who had the first real chance when Sissoko fouled Palombo but the free kick was wide. Del Piero went down the other end as Juve broke out and his one-two with Molinaro resulted in the defender seeing the studs of Gastaldello's boot's. The Samp stopper went into the book and Del Piero stepped up for the set piece, he brought a fine save out of Antonio Mirante, Nedved followed up on the re-bound but his drive went over.

It was a bright start by both teams as they searched for the early goal, with chances being created thick and fast at both ends. Antonio Cassano was proving to be a menace early on and he tried an outrageous back flick as he latched onto Stankevicius's through ball but Alex Manninger pushed it out.

The home side were playing with a five man midfield and the Bianconeri were struggling against the numbers. Walter Mazzarri's men were controlling the middle of the park and the pressed Juve back. The Old Lady had to revert to soaking up the pressure and breaking on the counter.

However, they lacked pace, with only Camoranesi offering some speed. Sammarco should have given Samp the lead when Cassano found him off the back of one of his trademark runs. However, Chiellini's perfectly timed challenge was enough to ensure the ball crossed the touch line and not the goal line. Juventus went down the other end as Sissoko galloped forward. Nedved fed him perfectly and the Mali international set up Del Piero but the captain saw his effort go out off the post. Luck betrayed the away side this time as they kept huffing.

Juve were lucky not to go behind when Stankevicius had a free and unmarked header on goal. Manninger blamed his defence who seemed to have switched off on Cassano's free kick. The ball was whipped in with pace and just a few centimetres was the difference between miss and goal. Both teams had their chances but neither could find the break through. Poulsen kept on giving the ball away for Juve and it didn't help matters as Claudio Ranieri watched in horror. However, Mellberg saved the day with a perfectly timed challenge. Samp tried their luck from the resulting corner but Manninger punched clear to offer his side some respite.

Del Piero had a glorious chance down the other end but his hooked volley just went over the bar. It was an excellent game played at frantic pace with little between the teams. Both sides were organised and well disciplined and the game was played fairly overall with just a couple of silly challenges.

Second Half

The teams remained unchanged for the second halfSamp began where they had left off. Cassano was outstanding and he tried his luck from a 35-yard free kick but it just went wide. It was a great effort and It's unlikely Manninger would have seen it had it been two inches inside his post. It was the Del Piero to practice his set pieces after Nedved was hacked by Accardi but his shot was poor and lacked accuracy.

The game slowed down a little and both sides were cautious going forward. Samp looked more dangerous and Sammarco will be asking himself how he missed a glorious free header following Cassano's cross. He should have given his side the lead. Juve kept banging a the door and they created several good chances but some poor finishing and the decision by Nedved to keep shooting from distance meant the scores stayed 0-0 as the half ticked on.

Juve were patient in their build up play but at times they were guilty of sitting a bit to deep which invited the pressure. Doria were well covered in midfield and Juve had to rely on working the ball into advanced positions as well as wing play. The match was there to be lost rather than won as both teams struggled to take a lead. The game just seemed to fizzle out towards the end and it had a stop and start feel to it which seemed to spoil the excitement.

Teams:

Sampdoria -(3-5-1-1): Mirante, Luchini(Bottinelli), Gastaldello, Accardi, Stankevicius, Sammarco, Palombo(Dessena), Francheschini, Pieri, Delvecchio, Cassano.

Goals: 0-0

Cards: Gastaldello(Sampdoria/Yellow), Luchini(Sampdoria/Yellow), Mellberg(Yellow/Juventus), Camoranesi(Yellow/Juventus)

Juventus Tertahan Lagi
