juventus vs catania 1-1, serie A 2008 week 4

Controled the Match, Super Juve only got 1 points

Juventus went ahead in the first half through Carvalho Amauri at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin, but they ended up drawing 1-1 as the visitors equalized through Gianvito Plasmati in the second half.

Juve captain Alessandro Del Piero feels his side had the better chances but in essence threw away the three points.

"We controlled the match too early," said said the World Cup winner. "Then we waited for the 1-1 to respond, creating many chances in the last 20 minutes."

Juventus threw all of their resources at Catania in the final stages of the match, but they could not break through the determined Sicilian defence.

"There is so much desire and hunger to win here, you have seen it on every play and we must continue like this," said Del Piero, who seemed bitter about the result.

Finally, Del Piero spoke about the condition of the pitch, which did not hold up well on Wednesday evening: "Last year the ground was fantastic. This is ugly."

Juventus now have a tough trip to the Stadio Marassi on Sunday. This Bianconeri will face Sampdoria as they look to make up for yesterday's draw with Catania but will have to overcome Antonio Cassano and co.

Kontrol Pertandingan, Sang Nyonya Tua Gagal Maksimalkan Points
