City's Premiere Target : Kaka And Messi

According to a report in the British broadsheet the Independent, Manchester City's owners are prepared to smash the €56 million deal which took Zinedine Zidane to Real Madrid from Juventus in 2001.

Apparently, the Blues' extremely wealthy Arab owners are so eager to land one of the world's best players that they are considering making offers upwards of €81 million.

It is claimed that the Citizens have drawn up a transfer list including the likes of Samuel Eto'o of Barcelona, Fernando Torres of Liverpool, and arch-rivals Manchester United's attacking duo Carlos Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, it is thought that City's preferred transfer targets are Milan's Brazilian international Kaka, and Barcelona's Argentine whizzkid Lionel Messi.

Bids could be made as early as January, as the report goes on to explain that both Gianluigi Buffon of Juventus and David Villa of Valencia are transfer targets too, but they will not be approached until next summer.
