Pirlo, Pato To Miss Coppa Italia Clash With Lazio

The visitors had no answers for their Sicilian opponents, and they continued their dismal record away from home this term having notched up just two wins from their seven games on the road.

This Wednesday evening however, the team will have a chance to redeem themselves as they take on Lazio in the Coppa Italia at the San Siro. They will have to do it without Andrea Pirlo and Alexandre Pato, however, as they duo have been ruled out through injury.

It has been a frustrating week for Pirlo, who will be forced to watch from the sidelines once again, despite just returning from a long injury lay-off with.

The club have declared that there are no major issues concerning Pirlo's latest setback, as the midfielder is simply still a little sore from the weekend and the team have simply opted to leave their World Cup winning midfielder out for the cup match this week.

Meanwhile, Pato will miss the contest as a precaution, as he suffered a countless number of knocks against Palermo at the weekend. As a result, the young Brazilian was forced to withdraw from the field after just 29 minutes of play.

Carlo Ancelotti is expected to make several changes to the starting line-up for this contest, a match that gets under way at 20:45 CET on Wednesday.
