Guti : The Season Is Far From Over...
Saturday night was meant to be a celebration for Guti, who played his 500th game for Real Madrid. Instead, it turned into a nightmare as his side suffered an embarrassing loss at Getafe.
Speaking to reporters after the match, Guti stressed that all was not lost, saying, "We are sad, but we have to be positive because there is a long season to go. We have only played 14 games, we cannot think that this is the end or anything as dramatic as that."
Guti then analysed the match, stating, "It is difficult to win a game when you concede two goals in the first two minutes of each half. We all tried hard, but we knew from history that Getafe is a dangerous team that likes playing against us. We tried to recover but it was not possible, so there is no excuse."
Finally, he touched on the milestone of notching up 500 games for Los Merengues, saying, "I am very happy to have played 500 games, and I am proud to belong to and form part of the history of Real Madrid. However, it is a bittersweet feeling because of the loss."
There will be no time for Guti to celebrate, as Real Madrid prepare to take on Sevilla in yet another blockbuster fixture next weekend.
