Bernd Schuster : Real Madrid Deserve To Lose

Real Madrid produced yet another disappointing performance, this time against neighbours Getafe, and Bernd Schuster admitted that his team deserved nothing from the game.

Schuster: Real Madrid Deserved To Lose

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Schuster said, "The loss does not hurt because from the very first minute, we could see that it would be difficult. A lot of things happened during the game, but at no point did we feel as though we could win. Therefore it does not hurt. Losses only hurt when you deserve to win."

The German went on to praise his former club: "Getafe were superior. They played a great game and therefore the result is fair."

A clearly unhappy coach then spoke of his own team's failings: "If you concede after two minutes in each half, then it shows that you are not playing to any plan. Maybe we were still feeling the effects of our Champions League trip."

Finally, Schuster commented on yet another match plagued by injuries, saying, "We have no control over it. It is bad luck, it has nothing to do with our preparation. We are going through a bad phase, but that is normal in football. We have to keep going because these things can happen at any time."

Real Madrid lost Wesley Sneijder and Miguel Torres to injury in the first half, while Pepe appeared to pick up a knock in the second half.

In the aftermath of another embarrassing defeat, Schuster's inability to offer any concrete explanations for his side's performance will do nothing to appease the many fans who are already calling for his head.
