Getafe Coach : Real Madrid Is Ugly...

Getafe have always made life difficult for Real Madrid, and it was no different on Saturday night as they romped home to a 3-1 win. Afterwards, coach Victor Munoz was ebullient in his praise of the troops.

Getafe Coach Munoz Revels in Madrid Victory

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Munoz said, "We have beaten a great team. It is the first time that we have won by two goals, so I congratulate my players on their hard work and effort. It was an excellent game and we were undoubtedly superior."

Munoz was then asked about comments attributed to him pre-match, wherein he allegedly described Real Madrid's football as "ugly".

In response, the coach stated, "I do not know where that rumour came from. All I said was they they were very efficient even when they do not play well. Even in this game they did not lose pride, and they tried, albeit without success, until the end.

"They came after a tough game against BATE, and there are also a lot of off field issues going on with them. But it is Getafe who must be praised. We played very sensibly. You have to play very well to beat them and we did."

Getafe were arguably denied four penalties during the match, and Munoz touched on these decisions, continuing, "I saw two penalties in the first half and at the break, my players said the referee was the closest. If he is the closest he should blow his whistle."

Finally, Munoz had a word for the fans: "After three or four games they used to chant, 'Victor out!' But we continued working and will continue to do so. Now the fans must encourage the team and it is magnificent when they show their appreciation like today."

If Getafe continue to produce performances like this one, there will be no reason for their supporters to chant for Munoz's head any time soon.
