Kaka Add Milan Injury Disaster

Despite currently sitting in third position in Serie A and levelled on points with second-placed Juventus, Milan have been low in confidence and very inconsistent in recent weeks.

In fact, the Rossoneri have won just one of their past four matches in Serie A, and even then it was against lowly Chievo at the San Siro stadium three weeks ago in a match where they had to rely on a controversial Kaka penalty to win 1-0.

Kaka Adds To Milan Injury Woes
In fairness to the club, however, they have had a number of injuries to contend with, which has resulted in such poor performances.

To make matters worse, their Brazilian star player Kaka is in doubt for this week’s Coppa Italia clash with Lazio, despite not playing at the weekend against Palermo due to suspension.

The 2007 Ballon d'Or winner is suffering from a slight calf strain and at time of writing, he remains in serious doubt to take part in the cup game. He will undergo a late fitness test, prior to the contest; however the early reports are suggesting that he will miss out.

If he is forced to watch this clash from the sidelines, he will join the likes of Alexandre Pato, Andrea Pirlo, Massimo Ambrosini, Daniele Bonera, Pippo Inzaghi, Alessandro Nesta and Marco Borriello, all of whom are missing through injury or illness.

In other team news for the Rossoneri, Dida is set to start in goals, whilst the back four will consist of Luca Antonini, Philippe Senderos, Kakha Kaladze and Giuseppe Favalli. Emerson and Andriy Shevchenko will also be given starts according to the latest reports.

Milan host Lazio this Wednesday evening, with play getting underway at 20:45 CET.
