Valencia At The Doom....Ready To Sell David Villa ?

News has started filtering through that La Liga outfit Valencia are on the brink of a collapse and an economic meltdown.

Manchester City, Chelsea Set To Pounce For David Villa

Despite the club, and their president Vicente Soriano in particular, dismissing those claims and insisting that they have a financial plan ready to tackle the economic challenges, Madrid-based daily Marca have reported that Los Che will need to make a series of payments before December 31 to clear their existing debt and the amount required could easily surpass €50 million.

The only way out for the Mestalla-outfit could be to sell some of their prized players to help ease the burden and British tabloid, Daily Mirror have speculated that Chelsea and Manchester City are willing to pitch in, but they want in-form striker David Villa in return.

The two mega-rich clubs have recently renewed their interest in the Euro 2008 Golden Boot winner but Valencia might not get the near-€50 million they were holding out for when Real Madrid attempted to prise him to the Santiago Bernabeu during the summer transfer window.

If reports are to be believed, both City and Chelsea are only willing to dish out around €22 million in a take-it-or-leave-it deal, although the final offer could eventually be significantly higher if the two Premier League clubs enter a mad bidding war.
