Juan Cruz Sol, Chelsea's chief scout in Spain has admitted that he will continue to track the development of the 14 year-old 'wonderkid' Gerard Deulofeu.
The player is rated as one of the finest underage talents in Europe and has inevitably benn linked with a place at the Arsenal academy.
However, Sol admits that the interest from Chelsea is serious, although no contact has yet been made between the clubs.
He told Sport: “Deulofeu is a player that everyone likes but that doesn’t mean we are going to sign him.
“We know that a lot of people after him. It’s normal because he’s a player with a lot of quality and who can change a game.
“He has great technique and is very intelligent, although it is necessary to continue to monitor his progression.
“I have seen him and will continue to watch Deulofeu, but we have not spoken with either Chelsea or Barcelona.”
Ketua pencari bakat Chelsea di Spanyol Juan Cruz Sol mengaku dirinya akan terus memantau perkembangan "wonderkid" berusia 14 tahun Gerard Deulofeu.
Pemain ini dinilai sebagai salah satu talenta usia remaja terhebat di Eropa dan sudah dihubungkan dengan akademi sepakbola Arsenal.
Namun, Sol mengakui ketertarikan Chelsea adalah sesuatu yang serius, walaupun belum ada kontak resmi antara kedua klub.
Katanya pada Sport, "Deulofeu adalah pemain yang disukai semua orang tapi itu tak berarti kami akan mengontraknya.
"Kami tahu banyak pihak mengincarnya. Itu wajar karena dia pemain dengan kualitas tinggi dan bisa merubah jalannya pertandingan.
"Tekniknya hebat dan dia sangat cerdas, walaupun kami masih harus memonitor perkembangannya.
"Saya telah melihatnya dan akan terus memantau Deulofeu, tapi kami belum berbicara dengan Chelsea ataupun Barcelona."
